The IE School of Arts and
Humanities
in collaboration with IE’s Alumni Association have the
honor to invite you to a lecture entitled,
"Human History from a
Biological Perspective"
on Thursday, May 13th at 19.30h,
given by
Dr. Jacob van Etten.

Dr.
Jacob van Etten
is the Dean of the IE School of Biology, Professor in Biology
and Ph.D. in Production Ecology and Resource Conservation and Social Sciences,
Wageningen University (ND). Dr. van Etten, has worked for the Food and
Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Rice
Research Institute. His main research interest are the role of natural
resources in sustainable development, the integration between biological and
social sciences, and geographical modeling.

The
lecture will feature a discussion about our dealings with food, disease and the
natural environment shapes human culture. Humans have now definitively taken
the future of the planet in their hands. Do we know enough about our own
environment to carry this responsibility?

The lecture will be held in room E-107 in c/ Pinar, 9 on
IE Business School’s
campus.  The lecture will be given in
English.
