Yesterday, after a tedious and a tense political campaign lacking of arguments and of debate, general elections took place in Spain.  The Spanish Socialist Workers Party won.  Parallelly, in France, the French socialist party won the municipal elections, reaffirming the vertiginous fall in popularity of President Sarkozy.  In the U.S.A, the fierce fight continues for the presidential candidacy of the aspiring democrats whose last word will be decided by Pennsylvania in the month of April.  Then we will know who will face the Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Meanwhile, the ETA assassinations continue, the political managers consolidate, the Pakistani parties offer their hand and say that they are disposed to govern in coalitions, after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto; the Russians conform with the icy attractive candidate to the Prime Minister post, Medvedev.  Israeli howitzers fly over the spring beaches of Gaza and the families of the martyrs of radical Islam blow themselves up in the supermarkets of Tel Aviv.  More to the south, the ethnic Kenyans shine their machetes crooning pointedly Rwandan melodies.  The Chinese armor themselves against possible terrorist attacks which steam up the Games, and the Nikkei places the Stocks to the wind.    In Venezuela and Ecuador, Chavists and Correistas make a spectacle of their patriotic pride and acclaim their presidents after the border transgression to Colombia during an unnamed operation.  The Iron Woman leaves the hospital, Shakira gets married in Punta del Este and I decide to order a painting.

Ladies and Gentlemen, like Emile Zola, “ J’accuse”  of being part of that 1% that votes as “None of the above”.
