Balkan Comedies

This weekend I spent the afternoons watching some of the films of the Serbian film maker Emir Kusturica [3], one of my favorite film directors. An interesting feature of Emir Kusturica┬┤s films is that the Roma people are often depicted, sometimes as protagonists of his Balkan comedies, and sometimes, as the driving force behind the plot which always harbors a trace of magical realism.  Among his most well known films are:  Time of the Gypsies [4], Underground [5], Black Cat, White Cat [6], among many others.

Here is an abstract of the most recent film.  What do you think?
